.....It appears that we posted two different start times in our write-up about Sunday's run. We'll leave the store at 6:00 a.m. since no one has written in to ask for a 6:30 start.
And/but, we'll have the map here posted to the door and we'll be open long enough for runners to get water, use the restroom, grab nutrition, etc.

Whether you ran the Hibiscus Half recently or any other event, you may long for a good massage. One of Fleet Feet's finest, Katie Huinker, has completed her coursework for her professional licensure and she is working the massage table in parallel to working for us.
Katie will be offering massages on the following days at the store:
Friday, June 26, all day (call for appointment)
Monday evening, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (call for appointment)
Friday, July 3, all day (call for appointment)
Katie is just asking for a donation of $30 for her table time. She is leaving for the mainland soon to join her sisters on a memorial trip honoring and documenting their mother's Karolyn's life. Last week we had a really nice 9 miler covering hills and were fortunate to have cloud cover through much of it.
Since it is summertime we'll again meet at 6 a.m. However, if there is a preponderance of runners that want to go at 6:30, write in and we'll consider pushing the start time.
It has been nice to have our runs completed before mid-morning!
This week we'll head up the Pali and out Kam Highway, Kaneohe bound, and then wind through the neighborhoods on the other side of the memorial park, back down to the saddle road and home through the marsh (9 mile option) or home by way of Kalaheo Avenue (12 mile option).
Note that we will not run as a group on Sunday, July 5.
Remember to bring water/nutrition. We will stash some water along the course and point out water sources as we know them!
Congrats to those that did the Hibiscus Half with us. It was a fun (if not warm!) morning at Kapiolani Park!
We thought we'd keep it simple on Sunday (Father's Day) and run nine pretty miles. For those that need to get to a family brunch or to the TV to watch the U.S. Open, we'll have you home by 7:30.
We'll get coffee at Kalapawai afterward for those that can linger.
Here's the suggested route! (Note, we'll modify this route as needed as we do go through Bluestone and we have to keep it quiet.)
A lot of our regular Running for Women runners want to keep up the running this summer, but everyone wants to beat the heat a bit too.
This summer we're offering something different! We'll run from different Windward locations, involving trails, the beach, tucked away roads and the like.
We'll offer morning and evening alternate runs and publish a calendar of locations for those interested. Runners will buy a drop-in card and show up and run when they can. We just ask that you let us know you're coming a day in advance so we may staff our coaches appropriately. Morning runs will all begin at 7:00 a.m. (except sunrise beach runs, which will begin closer to sunrise) and evening runs will all begin at 6:00 p.m.

The picture is of Todd Iacovelli at last year's Jamba Juice run (as winner, shown here with our store friend Matt Stevens), and he won again yesterday at his first competitive half marathon!
While most of us were enduring the heat in Kahala en route home, Todd was relaxing at Kapiolani Park after a stellar 1:10 performance.
Store friend and running coach Julie Phillips was 2nd overall female and ran an impressive 1:36!
There were so many Kailua runners there we had a hard time congratulating everyone. Here are several results, and if we misssed your time, dash us a note and we'll post it. Great job, all!!
Like mangos? Like trails? Then perhaps you did the annual HURT Hawaii Mango Madness run with others!
This group knows how to put on a good race and have fun. Store friend Matt Stevens was the overall winner. We anticipate that HURT will post comprehensive results soon.
They have something about Marv Mango taking a hit on the run and we think it was not a good outcome.....go to their site for more fun, Hurt Hawaii.
On Sunday June 7, at 0-dark hundred, several hearty triathletes got themselves up to the North Shore for the annual triathlon there. There were - as always - some great results.
Here are just a few from Windward athletes. Congrats to Rachel Ross for another fine performance (!) and to our Rob Seaver who took his age division. Rob is featured here - in the store and not in his training gear - and when you see him next be sure to say hello.

Aloha. We will be heading to town this Sunday a.m. for the Hibiscus Half Marathon, sponsored by the Hawaii Chapter of the Leukemia Society.
If you are not already registered and would like to join this fun event, you may register at the store Friday afternoon from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. during packet pickup. You may also register in town at Runner's HI on Saturday during town packet pickup.
Some folks are looking for a ride into town. If you would like to carpool, please call the store at 262-3278 so that we may put people together. There will be no formal carpooling from the store.
The water stops on the course are great. But don't forget to bring the nutrition with which you've trained. (We've got lots of GU and Powergels in stock if this is helpful....)
We'll post next Sunday's run online within the week. Windward runners not doing this half might consider a beach run followed by Lanikai Loop for a nice 10 mile run - or variation thereof - depending on your starting point!

These are the happy feet of those well trained for the Hibiscus Half Marathon!
Several of us labored through 13.5 miles or more last Sunday, enduring the Kona conditions as best we could!
Good news! The trades are back and so are our spirits! We'll run 8 or 10 on Sunday and start later in light of the conditions, at 6:30 from the store.
Here is a link to the map showing the 10 miler. 8 milers will skip the marsh and head back to the store after leaving the high school. 10 milers may want to come back via Kainalu which would add another mile. We can discuss as a group that morning.

We will stash water somewhere on the old highway and also at the high school exit. There is water at the skate park and at the Kaha end of the marsh.
