Windward 25K Results are in - great training run all!

Several hundred runners enjoyed decent cloud cover in Kailua for much of the 25K run on Saturday. Todd Iacovelli continues to dominate the series, finishing at 1:32:37.0, nine minutes ahead of anyone else. There were dozens of Windward runners. Sunday Run - Gorgeous 13 miler with options for less, 6:00 a.m. from the store

We're going to do a gorgeous run on Sunday morning.

We'll run from the store up Kailua Road to Auloa Road in Maunawili and through some beautiful Maunawili neighborhoods. From there we'll turn onto the Kalanianeole Highway and pick up the old highway and enjoy its beauty. Then we'll work through Enchanted Lakes by way of Keolu Road and cut through the high school. From there, it is easy street to home again.

Runners wanting less miles may skip any of the old highway or parts of Enchanted Lakes or both, cutting off at least 3-5 miles. Total mileage comes in right at 13.0. We'll step up our mileage for those readying for the marathon in ensuing weeks. We'll also continue to offer run options under 10.0 miles, etc.

We always review the runs before we start and make sure everyone knows the course and water choices. On this run there are fewer public water choices, so we'll stash some water and share its location. This would be a good run to carry  your own water for those camels out there.

You can grab nutrition from us at the store if you need it before we start.

Windward 25K start time is 6:00 a.m. in Kailua Town on Sat, Sept 26!

Seems there are different times published online for the Saturday, September 26th 25K event. (We erred in our mention too....here's a correction.)

The race begins at 6:00 a.m. at Kailua Beach Park.

Windward packet pickup is at our store on Thursday, September 24 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m.

Town packet pickup is at BOCA Hawaii on Friday, September 25th from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m.

Sunday Run -- Choices updated!

Okay, pick a view/run. We can't guarantee that you'll have either view as shown, but we can guarantee good views in either of the Hoomaluhia Gardens or Lanikai near daybreak.

As shared earlier, we are supporting the Mid Pac 4.4 mile run at the Old Pali Road at 7:00 a.m. From there many of us will do a back side gardens loop. Total mileage will be 9.5 hilly-ish and beautiful miles.

If you want to leave earlier and/or do flat miles for reasons understood, then consider this run (see link below)  at 6:00 a.m. from the store. George will be at the store to support. Water will be on course at public sites. Bring nutrition if you need it or get it with George as he opens.

Old Pali Road runners - Susan will have backup water with her. Bring nutrition as you need it. Know that the MPRRC folks will have water too. If we finish the race and then do the gardens immediately, we'll have plenty of  time to cheer on race division winners!

Running for Women courses still open!

Our Fall courses are still open and several great ladies have joined us just this week!

No matter your level of running, we have runners to compliment your adventure.

If you missed week one or two, don't worry! We have more great and interesting ladies joining daily. We have a strong referral program in place to help us fill all of our courses so that we may continue to offer a.m. and p.m. running for all levels. We know you all have varying scheduling demands and we're trying to accommodate with our coaching staff.

Sunday Run - September 20 - Choices!

 

Join us Sunday for a beautiful run away from traffic! We're suggesting the Old Pali Run (4.4 miles, leaving from the road that feeds to it and to the Koolau Golf Course at 7:00 a.m.) Race 'show up and sign up' process begins close to 6:30.

After the MPRRC run,  we'll do one repeat in the gardens for a total run day of 9.4. If you want to do two repeats, you'll do 14.4 miles. If you want to go to the top of the Old Pali Road instead, you'll do 9.0. Etc.

We may have a small group leaving from the store for a flat run, tbd. Watch this site and FB for more!

Congrats to so many Kauai Marathon and Half Marathon finishers!

There are flat marathons and not-so-flat marathons. And Kauai is among the not-so flat marathons!

We didn't get to run it, but we heard from many that it was tough. Yet, we saw some amazing times coming from it.

Local runners ran very well! Here are some highlights:

- Team Jet coach Julie Doheney was 2nd in her age group and 30th overall female, running a great time of 3:42:33.

- Store coach Lynne Daly was 3rd in her age group and 45th overall female, with another great time of 3:48:38.5.

- Rich Daly was 3rd in his competitive age division and 16th overall with a time of 3:31:44.4.

- Susan Grove was 3rd in her age group and 79th overall female, running a solid 4:07:28.0.
