For those not going into town for the Nike 30K run, we'll be doing just over 18 here, through Maunawili, Norfolk and Enchanted Lakes/Kailua.
You may do 9, 13 or 18 (and variations within, we'll discuss before departing).
Bring water and nutrition and we'll speak to water stops available when we review the map.

Some of our customers have inquired about a car pool to the Komen Race for the Cure tomorrow.
The race starts at Kapiolani Park at 7:00 a.m.
We are doing a long Sunday run from the store at 6:00 a.m. and therefore not driving in to town, but we will be here at 6:00 a.m. and welcome any who want to park their cars and share rides.
Some participants are without cars and in need of a ride. If you are able to share a ride, contact the store at 262-3278 before closing (6 p.m.) or write a note here or on Facebook.

We're going to step up the mileage this week for those readying for the Honolulu (or California International) marathons.
We will however, have options for mileage of 8, 10 or 13 if this is more suitable to you.
The trades are weak but the Kona air is cool; we'll hope for the best and enjoy a nice Kaneohe Bay run with some neighborhoods added. Those doing 16 will need to break away at the marsh return and head up to the highway and to get to 16. You'll finish downhill!

Sunday runners will leave from the store at 6:00 a.m. and have options to do as little as 6 and as much as 14+.
The route is pretty local since the Redpaths will not be at the store for support. (We're working on our golf game at Makaha Resort ......LOL on this because we will be laughing too each time we take out another sleeve of golf balls.)
There are public water stops at Kailua H.S., the skate park in Enchanted Lake, Kailua Beach Park, Kalama Beach Park, and Kaha park (end of marsh). For those wanting or needing to do more than 14, you might add on Mokapu Loop (this will add 4 miles) or add 2 miles by going up to Kalianeoole Hwy at the beginning of the run and down Keolu Road instead of cutting through the high school.
We'll write again before Sunday and have a Kailua Running Co or store friend as point person to discuss the route!

Congrats to so many who got up so early for this fun North Shore triathlon!
Some of you used it as a training event for
Western Australia, others used it to enjoy the North Shore and its beauty.

All will enjoy this very fun British film about a guy down on his luck in many ways who decides to do the London Marathon to pick himself up and get his life back.
Much involved, all very witty. Those in marathon preparedness will enjoy the journey and training humor.
We meet at the store at 6:30 for pupus and drinks. The film will start at 7:00 p.m. It is a BYOB affair and we'll supply Lucy's pizzas and ask for a small donation if you join us for food. Mahalo.

It is hard not to enjoy this view and it is one we get on this Sunday run.
We're doing just about 14.0 miles, with options for 8 or 10 or thereabouts depending on your knowledge of the area streets. Everyone will get a run overview and we'll point to water stops you can use to replenish your bottles, etc.
It has been hot here and we do recommend that you carry water. If you don't, do orient yourself to the public water stations as we point them out.
Our runs are free, supported now and then by an injured soul (ahem) who will provide water stops. But on the whole we encourage these runs to be self-supporting. Bring nutrition or ask us for some before we start.
